As I am sure you’ve noticed, it’s been very very VERY quiet around here! I’ve been making some changes in my universe, and will have some more info (and a bunch of backlogged session sharing) for you later, but for now, I will just give you the new text from the info section of my website:

As of January 2011, I have decided to restructure my business to allow me to return to school part-time and expand my focus to fine art. I will be accepting a limited number of portrait commissions each month, and priority will go to existing clients. If you are a new client and would like to be waitlisted, please fill out my contact form and include the month that you would like to book for, and I will send you an email when I open booking to new clients for that month.

And now, the exciting part: my session fees will now be all-inclusive! When you book a mini-session, full session, or adventure session (more on what those are in a bit), you will pay a flat fee and get a CD of full resolution images, with permission to reprint for personal use at UNLIMITED sizes!!

The following paragraphs cover some basic questions about my sessions, and after you book, my welcome packet will provide guidance on how to prepare (including everyone’s favorite question: “what do we wear?!”).

mini sessions :: $365

Mini-sessions are a great option when you want a few fantastic family images, plus amazing images of individual kids or pets. They last up to 30 minutes at one location, and include a CD with a minimum of 15 full resolution images. I will be offering a mini-session date once a month, with up to 4 time slots available. Please note that mini-sessions do not guarantee dyad coverage – if you want all the possible family combinations, we’ll need to schedule a full session or an adventure session. While I do not book newborns for mini-sessions (you’ll need a full session for curly baby pictures) mini-sessions *are* a great option for maternity images – especially for first time moms (and they make great shower gifts!).

full sessions :: $975

Full sessions last up to 2 hours, and can take place at up to two locations – usually your home and a favorite park, natural area, or downtown. I have also done sessions at bookstores, cafes, and libraries…even in parking garages! These sessions include coverage for all dyads, subgroupings, and individuals, as well as the whole group. The session fee includes up to 5 immediate family members – please plan to add $100 for each additional family member. With the session fee, you will receive a CD containing at least 40 images with permission to reprint for personal use. Please note that a full session is the one to pick if you want curly, naked, and/or sleeping images of your newborn baby up to two weeks of age. I am offering no more than two full sessions per month. If you are booking a newborn session and want maternity images as well, you will be able to add on a maternity mini-session at a 25% discount at the time of booking only.

adventure sessions :: $1475

Adventure sessions are a special family treat – I reserve my entire day for you, and we plan an amazing adventure! Previous adventure session themes: 9 hours exploring San Francisco including lots of yummy food (Bi-Rite Ice Cream, anyone?), cable car rides, and park time; a day exploring highway 92, Half Moon Bay, and San Gregorio; a morning at home, a trip to the park and farmers market, then meeting up again at sunset to chase ducks and watch small planes landing. Adventure sessions are the only sessions that include a physical product with the CD image archive: I will do a 10×10 session album of your images. Your adventure session CD will contain at least 70 images. I will be offering just one adventure session a month, so please plan ahead!

booking

Your session fee is due at the time of booking. Should you decide to cancel for any reason, $150 of the fee will be retained as a non-refundable deposit, however, your full session fee is transferable to a future date should you need to reschedule for any reason. I do offer interest-free payment plans for clients who would like to spread out their investment over time without incurring credit card debt – please let me know if you are interested. I accept checks, cash, and paypal via credit card.

Sales tax will be added to all session fees.

location location location

I serve clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. A $50 travel fee may apply for sessions located more than 30 miles from Mountain View. I am also available to travel worldwide, so if you’d like me to come to your city, please fill out my travel session interest form. Travel locations are planned based on interest (I usually require a minimum of 4 mini-session or 2 full/adventure session bookings per city), so if you want me to come visit you, speak up, and tell your friends too! :-)

Any questions?

As someone who works with kids and families every day, it’s really important to me to give back to my community wherever I can, so when my friend Hoi asked that I consider doing some pro bono photography and design for a “Save Our Schools” campaign to raise funds for a local school district, I was in.

Here are some (ok, a bunch) of my favorite shots:

This one is in the postcard above, but I had to include it large, because I REALLY love it:

These kids had such amazing spirits, and I had a blast working (and playing) with them.

Good luck, TFIN!

So, it is no secret that I am extremely proud and grateful to have been involved with Full Circle Farm since the project was in the pre-proposal process. Nowadays, I maintain the farm’s flickr account, and try to do a walkabout in my role as official farmtographer at least a couple of times a month. So when Kiwi magazine wanted a picture to accompany their story on “Moms of the Revolution,” you can bet I jumped at the chance! It is my first shot in a national publication, and it’s definitely a thrill!

Hi gang,
I know it’s been awfully quiet around here, but I promise, I have lots and lots of pictures to share! :-) In the past two weeks, I have:

Hi gang,

I know it’s been awfully quiet around here, but I promise, I have lots and lots of pictures to share! :-) In the past two weeks, I have:

:: shot two maternity sessions and…

:: one family session, and…

:: photographed a major event at full circle farm, AND…

:: had my FIRST NATIONAL PUBLICATION (in all caps, because, well, NATIONAL!!) …I’m planning to blog it tomorrow, but pick up a copy of this month’s Kiwi magazine and flip to page 25 if you’re curious. :-), AAAND…

:: PACKED AND MOVED!!!! (that’s in all caps with four exclamation points because, well, it’s MOVING!! (for the curious, we moved from the Sunnyvale side of the Mountain View/Sunnyvale border back to Mountain View).

I have learned that:

:: I have the best family and friends in the whole wide world

:: I have too much stuff, but that I *am* capable of getting rid of it!

:: seeing my work published never ever gets old

:: sunset at the farm is glorious (oh, wait, I already knew that ;-)

If you’re still curious about what I’m doing, here’s what’s coming up: I have 4 sessions to proof, and two to peek (one already peeked, and one I won’t be for privacy reasons) and a bunch of images from the farm to share, plus my own personal “ack! I need my camera now!!!” stuff ;-)…so lots of eye candy coming your way this week, I promise!

To my dear, patient clients – thank you so much for being so understanding as I get my life back out of boxes and ticking along again. Please do email or call me if you have any questions, as always!

I hope you enjoyed the above shots of my muse in her boxes…now, I am off to get a few more things ordered before it is time to head home!

xoxo
Lilia

p.s. I know it seems like it’s nuts to think of it, but my holiday deadline is coming up – sessions must take place by November 5th to have guaranteed holiday turnaround! September is mostly filled up, with just a couple of slots left, and October going as well, so if you want holiday pictures, please fill out the contact form on my main site so’s I can get you scheduled! I will be announcing some limited edition holiday mini sessions to take place in October, and slots will likely go fast, so if you’re interested, please include a note in the comments field so that I can add you to the interest list for those!

Hi gang,

I am not ashamed to admit it. I drank the facebook koolade (ok, maybe a little ashamed. but, like, 0.973% little ;-)

Seriously, though, more and more, I am finding myself adding additional sneak peek images to the faves album on my babymoon facebook page (because I humbly admit that I am a lazy blogger and it’s faster than creating a whole new post and hard coding the image urls because I can’t seem to get wordpress media browser to work without setting unreasonably liberal folder permissions on the server, but that’s probably waaaay more than you wanted to know ;-)…so, anyway, if you’re wanting even more images, or just want to say hi, please stop by. You can even add me as a fan page, so you’ll get a little heads up on your feed when I post new images (and cough::specials::cough).

Speaking of feeds, if you are a blog reader (which, you basically definitely are, since you’re reading this, so don’t even try to weasel out of it, because we have ways of making you talk (generally involving tickling (not to mention egregiously embedded paranthetical statements ;-))), and you’re not using Google reader (or another feed reader, but, honestly, I’m loving greader (as I like to call it, ’cause I like to save me some space on my bookmarks toolbar…and I don’t care who knows it :-), you should DEFINITELY check it out. You can even add the RSS feeds for all your favorite etsy stores (in their very own folder) to know when they post new stuff – how evil is THAT?!?!

Anyway, this has been an image-free post (sacreligious, I know, but did you read the part about facebook?)…and I must sleep now! I will wake bright and early and get on my sneak peeking and processing for all the lovelies I shot this weekend…you know who you are.

xoxo,
Lilia
