Hi gang,
For my local readers, I would like to extend an invitation to attend Full Circle Farm’s Healthy Halloween Hoedown!
The HHH will be tonight (Halloween) from 4:30pm – 6pm, on the farm (1055 Dunford Way in Sunnyvale). I will be there (dressed in my ladybug costume, which I made myself! ;-) taking pictures and having fun.
Full details on the FCF website
We’ll have a fresh-apple cider press, a bicycle-powered smoothie machine, a (not too scary) haunted greenhouse, a costume parade, and more! Little ones of all ages are welcome, so bring your flashlight and your closed-toed shoes and your Halloween spirit!!
In case of rain, we’ll be moving everything into our newly completed greenhouse, and continuing with the party. Hope to see you there!!
xoxo,
Lilia

Days like today, I’m humming that tune, dancing on cloud nine. I headed up the Peninsula to create some newborn portraits. I met a sweet little man named Nolan, his amazing mama and papa, and his sweet grandparents, and we made some art together, out of the love that they have for one another, and the amazing miracle that is a tiny, brand new human being.

Creating a newborn portrait is an extraordinary experience – there is personality, joy, opinion, humor, everything that is a person, even when the package is as tiny as can be, and every one is unique. Getting to witness that, well…that’s just a gift. So, thank you, Nolan, and your tribe…I hope you treasure these images. I know I do.
xoxo,
Lilia
p.s. oh, and one other thing? Newborns make the funniest faces!!

Just thought I’d share…

…a few of my favorite etsy stores. One of the things I love about being a kids’ portrait photographer (and auntie) is that there’s a lot of marvelous hand-made cuteness out there in the world…and as we go into the fall here in Silicon Valley, thoughts are turning to hats, scarves, and layers for bundling…all of which photograph beautifully! These shops are some of my favorites, and I’d love to have the opportunity to photograph your little sweeties (or you!) in/with some of the lovely creations you’ll find within…
bella sera baby :: really cute modern kids’ clothes
butterfly designs :: organic cotton fruit + veggie baby caps (eep!!!)
fields of honey :: ok, this one’s just for you mamas – my friend (and client) Anjali makes gorgeous earrings!
gemmielou :: really cute felt hair clips (I got little bees for the little bee)
inklore :: I’m in love with the swingset onesie!
lassiegirl :: gorgeous, colorful modern baby and kids clothes
m patrizio :: hand crocheted softies (I have one) and kids shirts (with a parachuting owl!!)
olliekate :: the stinkingest cutest kids shirts I’ve seen in just about ever!
pamela tang :: simple modern designs for moms and kids, in natural fabrics
ravenhill :: lovely patterned matruschka doll softies
turtleturtle :: funky patterned mei tai wraps
yorkpatty :: kids basics made from warm-toned, interesting fabrics
Enjoy!!

Lilia

Um, yeah. Sorry for the big giant overuse of exclamation points, but I just get so thrilled when I have images like these to share!!! Wouldn’t you be? I headed up to Palo Alto for a family portrait session….sweet Miss A. is fabulously 8 months old, and she is one of the sun-shiniest babies I’ve ever met. We hung out, played classics like Amazing Flying Baby, Peek-a-boo and “Where’s Daddy?” and had lots of kisses and giggles…my favorite way to spend a Sunday morning!

Did I mention there were lots of kisses? Well, there were!!

I love this shot…sweet little feet, a flower…and some blue jeans. I’m easy. ;-)

…and this is one of the last images from the day…she was so tired, and just curled up for some mama love. My heart just about popped.

There’s so much to share, I can’t wait to proof this session! Thanks so much for welcoming me into your home and allowing me to witness your love for one another. Once again, I’m left with goosebumps.
xoxo,
Lilia
p.s. This is what we in the biz call “an outtake” ;-)
