Beeloved Feet

…because they are attached to a beloved creature who continues to inspire, amaze, and just generally bring me a huge amount of joy. This is my belated and abbreviated Thanksgiving post, as I have had a marvelous weekend with family and am now attempting to put the kibosh on a cold that has sent everyone around me running for the hills. If you are waiting to hear from me, please accept my apologies, and know that I will be in touch as soon as I kick this thing, or tomorrow, whichever comes soonest. I hope you all had marvelous, wonderful, amazing holidays with your sweeties, and are just generally restored and rejuvenated (and stuffed :-).

xoxo,
Lilia

A dream of love…

beautiful dreamers :: palo alto maternity portrait

…is what I shared yesterday, when I headed up to Palo Alto for a pregnancy portrait session. I met two joyful souls, waiting to welcome a third, and we made some art together. If there is a sweeter, more down-to-earth, present couple out there in the world, I have yet to met them. Once again, I am posting of my gratitude that I have found this path in my life, and that I have such wonderful people to walk it with.

I don’t usually sneak-peek this many images, but they are so far from their families (papa-to-be is a post-doc at Stanford University) that I wanted to give them a lot to share with loved ones who have not seen them for many months.

Enjoy!!

We started out at home…they had a HAMMOCK (and I think I might have made a little “sqeee!!!” of joy when I saw her stripey thermal AND rainbow jeans):

We created some beautiful, amazing, gorgeous intimate images…which I am not going to show you here (sorry! :-)…I will show you these (the ginko was a birthday card…how sweet and romantic is *that*?!?!?):

We met up again just before sunset to do some portraits on the Stanford campus…I was SO excited when N. said that she wanted to do pictures by the Andy Goldsworthy sculpture outside the Cantor Center, because it is absolutely my most favoritest piece there, and it’s her favorite TOO!

…here’s another…this was such a hard shot to get, because I asked N. if she could keep a totally serious face while he kissed her cheek, and she had to fight soooooo hard not to smile…

…then we meandered off toward the main quad, and I asked if she could twirl for me…and then they danced the TANGO in the magic light…and my heart just about popped!!!

…they indulged me with a shot in front of the book drop at Green Library (an homage to a shot from this session by one of my photographic heroines, Tara Whitney)

…and said our goodbyes. This was my last shot of the day:

…thank you, a million billion times over…

…thank you B. and N…

…thank you universe…

…thank you light…

…thank you life…

…just, thank you.

Sorry about the crickets!!

So things have been awfully quiet around here in my little corner of the online universe, which usually happens when I’m shooting and proofing up a storm! I’ll have some images of proofs and orders to share in the next day or so, but for now, some much belated pictures from the Halloween festival at Full Circle Farm!

I don’t have releases from the mamas and papas of the amazing cuties that attended the festival, so you’ll just have to take my word for it that there were some FABULOUS costumes and amazingly cute kids (hopefully they will email me so that I can share!). I can, however, share a few of my favorite shots of FCF staff and kids, our grownup guests, not to mention some of the amazing fauna that showed up.

Enjoy!!
