…the farm. mustard flowers. sunset. backlight. my muse…welcome to my happy place:

So I have been crazy busy, of late, shooting and editing and helping out at the farm…and of course my blog tends to get all dusty and cobwebified when that happens…but I’ve got a slew of posts that I’m working on, and some really fun news, so stay tuned!

p.s. if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, come say hi at Full Circle Farm’s Earth Day Festival on April 19th! I’ll be there, taking lots and lots of pictures, and it’s gonna be an AWESOME party!

elegant…glowing…gorgeous…loving…real…
…those would be the words that came to mind when I looked through my shots from today.
I am so very very grateful that I get to do what I do. I get to witness amazing, beautiful, real moments. My clients show up with their hearts, and welcome me into their homes during some of the most amazing, change-filled times in their lives, and set me free to make art…it really blows my mind. :-)
Once again, I say to the universe….thank you.
xoxo,
Lilia

So, we have a saying amongst my scoobies: “that was a TOTAL ‘leggo my eggo’”…which bit of nonsense refers to the time that my bff suddenly realized (when she was, like, 13 or so) that the aforementioned phrase was a pun on “let go of…” and that the phrase actually had a meaning other than the silly rhyme with the name of said toaster waffle (we’re not going to talk about the fact that that may or may not be a brand-fail for the Eggo marketing team ;-)…and the phrase has now expanded usage to apply to any situation wherein you suddenly realize something about something that should have been obvious from the start…and that is what this image is for me…the above image, which I COMPLETELY ADORE, features what is quite possibly the cutest little shirt I’ve ever seen (the front has a heart and a peace sign, and I just absolutely love it), and I had a sudden “leggo my eggo” moment a few months ago when a friend pointed me in the direction of the amazingly cute nina + tom…and I suddenly realized that the shirt was not (as I had assumed) a super-hip holiday card from a couple named Nina and Tom to their circle of good friends whom they love more than paper can say, but rather a really awesome, local, right-in-line-with-so-many-of-my-philosophies-in-the-world, right-on business that I filed it away in my “ok, gotta do a blog post about that soon” file, which, as you can see, I opened up today!!
Whew!! So, anyway, that was all by way of saying, if you show up for your session in a Nina and Tom shirt, I will probably go “squeeeee” and jump up and down and maybe give you a hug. :-)

We interrupt our regularly scheduled stream of adorable baby and gorgeous family portraits to bring you this fabulous celebration of my other passion, Full Circle Farm…enjoy!! :-)

Well, we finally got some sunshine last week, and of course I had to go out and shoot it! Even better, it happily coincided with the Grand Spring Reopening of the farmstand at Full Circle Farm! We made a bit of a shindig of it (ok, I have word from above that I’m not supposed to refer to it as a shindig, but I can’t help myself!)…anyway, it was BIG fun!! Some of my favorite people in the world dressed up as veggies, and there were kids activities, and some amazing treats, including green garlic dip, bunny salad, and I contributed rainbow chard lasagna, which was quite well reviewed (if I do say so myself :-).
Visitors (and my muse ;-) came out to buy some awesome freshly picked veggies, local honey, and just generally enjoy the sunshine and green growingness…and there was puddle stomping galore, not to mention a peregrine falcon sighting!
The farmstand is located at 1055 Dunford in Sunnyvale, CA, and I totally encourage you to stop by, if you’re a local! Hours are Wednesday and Friday from 3-7pm, and during those hours, visitors of all ages are welcome to walk our tractor paths and visit the educational garden at the west end of the farm….and if you happen to notice a round lady with a bright red bag (possibly flat on her belly on the ground taking pictures of plants), say hello, because chances are that’s probably me! ;-)
xoxo,
Lilia
